4G is the latest buzzword in the telecom landscape these days. With many companies either doing 4G trials or planning to do so in the near future, it is not long before a large proportion of mobile population would switch over to 4G. Today we are showing the steps for enabling 4G on an iPhone running iOS 8. Of course, you will only be able to enjoy these services once the telecom brands have started rolling out real 4G plans and not before it.

The following screenshots have been taken on an iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 8.4. The steps would essentially remain the same for other iPhones running iOS 8. So here are the steps.

Go to the iPhone home screen where you have placed the Settings app.

Click Settings app.

Settings are displayed. Click Cellular.

Cellular settings are displayed. Click Voice & Data.

Voice & Data settings are displayed. As you can see, it shows a tick mark in front of 3G or 2g whichever you have enabled. Click LTE, which is another name for 4G.

The tick mark will now appear in front of LTE and the iPhone would now be ready to connect to 4G infrastructure of any carrier. So this is how we enable 4G on an iPhone running iOS 8.
