Apple iPhone 7 might need all new screen protectors due to minor changes in physical design
The rumor mills for Apple's upcoming iPhone 7 are floating at full flow and the latest one to hit the cyberspace is that iPhone 7 would sport a larger earpiece and a flipped ambient light sensor to the other side of the speaker. So brace yourself, old screen covers might just not work. According to 9to5Mac, manufacturers of screen protectors have stopped production suggesting a modification to the physical design of iPhone 7.
The advantages to increasing the earpiece size is obvious in that it would improve loudness levels and call quality, however flipping the light sensor from left to right seems unreasonable or just plain gimmicky. Overall, both these changes just mean that screen guards as well as some other accessories would need to be redesigned for the new iPhones.
But all said and done, these are all rumors still and should be taken with a grain of salt. What iPhone 7 will actually look like and carry inside it, as of now, only Apple and maybe some members from the supply chain know. Other than these people, everyone is just trying to make hay while the sun shines.
