Immature technology might stop Apple from introducing dual camera lens setup in iPhone 7 Plus this year
As per speculations, Apple is not going to make substantial changes in the design of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus when they launch it in September this year even though this is the year of major redesign as per their tick tock policy. They are keeping the same for next year which would mark the 10th anniversary of iPhone by introducing an all-glass design as rumors have started pointing out. However, one of the key changes that was being floated across for this year's launch was the inclusion of a dual-lens setup on the bigger sibling, the iPhone 7 Plus. But now, even this new dual lens camera seems in doubt as pointed by a source on Weibo which cites internal Foxconn staff. The report claims the technology is too immature to come out so soon. And Apple being Apple, they won't release a phone with some technology that they don't think fits in completely.
This can be a major setback to Apple's plans this year as it makes the upgrade even less enticing. If a major redesign is not on the cards, then Apple would have to summon up some mouth watering changes from somewhere coming September else the company might see sales dwindling under pressure. And then would have to wait till late 2017 to get some of its glory back by bringing in new and major mobile advancements.
Nothing is confirmed at this point though and Apple has the ability to surprise the world just at the last moment. So we would have to wait till September to see for ourselves how the tech giant showcases its newest iPhones. But as of now, the dual lens setup on iPhone 7 Plus does seem to be doubtful.
