LeEco has launched its much awaited 2nd generation Superphones, Le 2 and Le Max 2 at a gala event today attended by nearly 2000 attendees including media persons, bloggers and fans which LeEco fondly calls as Superfans. The new phones would be available on LeEco's own e-commerce website, LeMall and on Flipkart. Other than the phones, the company showcased its content ecosystem and a new digital audio technology called CDLA (Continual Digital Lossless Audio) with Type-C earphones. Delhi's Siri Fort Auditorium witnessed a historic event today with LeEco's anthem being sung by Bollywood music composer Pritam and singer Nakash Aziz. The entire event was marked with a lot of cheers and applause by the entire audience as the spokespersons delivered their respective topics about the new phones and sundry.

Le 2 was launched today boasting of features like 3 GB RAM, 32 GB ROM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, 16 MP rear camera, 8 MP front camera, PDAF, Closed Loop imaging technologies, an In-Cell display with blue light filter, 3G, LTE, 4G and above all VoLTE.

Le Max 2 also saw the light of the day today with 2 versions being launched, one with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB onboard storage while the other with 6 GB and 64 GB onboard storage. Common features include Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 5.7 inch 2K Super Retina display, 21 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and OIS, 6P lens, PDAF, Dual HDR, Dual Tone flash and 8 MP front camera. Connectivity options include 802.11 ac Wi-Fi.

These phones come bundled with content ecosystem through LeEco Membership program including a large collection of movies, curated shows, live TV channels, songs as well as live international concerts. A 5TB LeEco Cloud Storage is bundled too for you to store and consume your content on the go.

The company also spent time explaining the new CDLA audio technology that will power these 2 superphones, providing crystal clear digital audio through Type-C port rather than the standard 3.5 mm audio jack. This technology basically involves moving the audio decoder to the earphone rather than it being on the phone. LeEco also unveiled the world's first Type-C based earphones for an introductory price of Rs. 1999. This development comes on the footsteps of rumors about Apple ditching the 3.5 mm audio port on its next generation of iPhones. What remains to be seen is whether LeEco has done a one-up on Apple here or does the world's largest tech company Apple has something different up its sleeve later in the year when it launches iPhone 7.

Prior to this Le 1s has been an amazingly successful phone for LeEco while the 1st generation Le Max did not take off in popularity much due to its high cost. Hopefully the few chinks in the armor have been ironed out in these 2nd generation Superphones and these would stamp LeEco's authority in the smartphone landscape of India.
