IDC reports Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 breaks record for shipping maximum units in India's online retail in any given quarter
A new report from IDC claims that Xiaomi's Redmi Note 3 is the highest-shipped smartphone ever in the history of India's online market in any particular quarter. IDC quoted this in India Monthly Smartphone Tracker - June 2016 Release. According to IDC, a record thrashing 880000 units of Redmi Note 3 had been shipped through online channels in Q2 2016 which implies one out of every nine phones sold online this past quarter was a Redmi Note 3. Xiaomi also said it has sold a total of 1.75 million units of Redmi Note 3 since launching it 5 months back.

Xiaomi is a market leader when it comes to providing premium devices at affordable prices. Redmi Note 3, which was unveiled in March 2016, was the first smartphone sporting Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor to be launched in India.

Redmi Note 3 is a dual SIM phone with 5.5 inch Full HD display. It carries a rear camera of 16 Megapixels and a front camera of 5 Megapixels. The smartphone sells in 2 variants, one with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory for a price of Rs. 9999 and the other with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory for a price of Rs. 11999. Other notable features include a mammoth 4050 mAh battery, a metal construction and a fingerprint sensor. Redmi Note 3 has turned out to be the best selling smartphone for the Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi in India.

The company recently also announced that it has sold more than 90000 units of Redmi 3S Prime during the initial eight minutes of the first sale. This comes in as another recording breaking feat as being the most successful open sale on Flipkart. Xiaomi is continuously redefining the budget smartphone category in India and its sub-10k devices are taking the Indian mobile market by storm. The only qualm we have with Xiaomi smartphones is the highly confusing naming structure they follow which makes it utterly difficult to remember the phones through their model names. Else, if the company continues to manufacture masterful devices and keeps pricing them just correctly, then it can become an even stronger force capable of breaking more records in terms of shipments and sales as time passes by.
