InFocus launches 4G enabled Bingo 50+ smartphone in India but no announcement of a partnership with Reliance Jio as yet

New Delhi, August 30, 2016: American smartphone company InFocus today launched Bingo 50+ in India for a price of Rs. 7999. The device would be available exclusively on Amazon.in. The device would sell in two colors, Silver and Gold. The metal body along with delightful curves add a class of exuberance to the smartphone.

Looking at the specifications of the device, Infocus Bingo 50+ features a 5.5 inch HD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone is powered by a 64-bit Quad core 1.3 GHz MediaTek MTK6735 SoC. It is backed by 3 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory which can be further expanded to 64 GB via a microSD card.

Bingo 50+ carries a rear camera of 13 Megapixels resolution which has an LED flash to go alongside it and uses an aperture of f/2.2. The front camera sports a resolution of 8 Megapixels with inbuilt Autofocus. The operating system used by the phone is Android Marshmallow 6.0 and the battery capacity is claimed to be 2600 mAh. The 4G LTE enabled device is only 6.9 mm thick and has a weight of 158 grams.

InFocus has not been able to set the market on fire after their initial few phones launched some 2-3 years back. They have been unveiling some devices in the meanwhile but have not been able to lure customers as much as the latest Chinese brands like LeEco, Vivo or Oppo have done. However, they are playing the trump card by launching the 4G enabled Bingo 50+ as Indian customers are on the lookout for budget 4G offerings in the wake of Reliance Jio's ever expanding 90 days Preview Offer. Though we have not heard anything from Reliance or InFocus about a partnership as yet, we are quite sure that InFocus launching a 4G phone at precisely this point of time means an announcement between the telco and the smartphone vendor is ripe and pending for the very near future. As time moves ahead, we expect to see Reliance Jio opening up to many more 4G brands across the country and we sincerely hope InFocus is one of them as well.
