Microsoft and Lenovo have partnered to offer Microsoft apps like OneDrive, Office and Skype come pre-installed on some Lenovo smartphones out of the box. The announcement was made by the two tech giants on Tuesday.

The companies have also announced a patent cross-licensing agreement between themselves which would cover Lenovo and Motorola devices.

Lenovo, as a smartphone company has grown leaps and bounds in the previous years and is expected to sell a high number of Android devices in the coming years as a continuing trend. The company has a plethora of smartphones in its lineup which have done very well in the market. They are one of the market leaders when it comes to shipments and sales.

Microsoft on the other hand has not announced such a deal for the very first time. In the past it has bundled applications on smartphones of other manufacturers like Asus, Sony, Xiaomi and LG too. Though the company has not yet been able to make a major dent in the market with it own lineup of Lumia smartphones, it has a clear objective of putting across its apps and services across to as many users as possible by bundling them with a large variety of Android devices.
