Lenovo becomes number 2 smartphone brand by value in India as per IDC
Chinese smartphone brand Lenovo has emerged as the No. 2 smartphone brand by value and No. 3 by volume in India as per IDC's Asia Pacific Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker FYQ1'16. By volume, Lenovo now has a share of 7.7 per cent and by value, the company's share in the market stands at 9.1 per cent.

The combination of Lenovo owned Motorola and Lenovo itself has garnered number 2 position in the country. The company leads Apple, Micromax and Oppo in terms of value. Lenovo has been hard at work launching a plethora of smartphones lately like K5, K5 PLUS, ZUK Z1, Moto G4 Moto G4 Plus, Moto G Turbo, Moto X Play and their other versions in recent times. Lenovo also has had a consistent quarter on quarter growth of 14.2 per cent.

Lenovo retains its top position in the online retail with 19.18 per cent market share. As compared to the last quarter, Lenovo's position in offline retail this quarter has also seen a growth by 5 times.

Lenovo recently launched Vibe K5 Note smartphone in India. The device aimed at media consumption junkies introduces TheaterMax technology and is priced at Rs. 11999. The smartphone features a 5.5 inch display, up to 4 GB RAM, 4G connectivity, 3500 mAh battery, 13 Megapixels rear camera, 8 Megapixels front camera and 1.5 w speaker enabled by Dolby Atmos for loud and clear audio. The phone is available exclusively on Flipkart.
