Alcatel to launch Idol 4 smartphone and VR headset in India on December 8
Alcatel is set to launch its new smartphone Idol 4 in India alongside a VR headset on Thursday. This would be the maiden VR headset from the company's stable which has not been able to taste huge success with its smartphones in the country as yet. Alcatel unveiled Idol 4 and Idol 4s at MWC in February this year but has taken a long time to finally plan to bring them to India.

Idol 4 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 Octa core processor coupled with 3 GB RAM. The phone carries a 5.2 inch Full HD IPS LTPS display and its graphics are supported by Adreno 405 GPU. The internal memory available on the device is 16 GB which can be expanded up to 512 GB through a microSD card. The smartphone sports a rear camera of 13 Megapixel resolution while the front camera maxes out at 8 Megapixels.

The battery capacity available on the device is 2610 mAh and it includes support for Quick Charge 2.0. The pricing for the phone should be announced at the day of the launch on Thursday but would most probably be above Rs. 20000. We hope Alcatel are finally able to nail down a compelling smartphone that could appeal to the masses.
