Huawei launches Honor 9 with dual rear cameras and Kirin 960 SoC globally

Huawei's online brand Honor has announced its new flagship device, the Honor 9, for international markets like UK and Europe. The Honor 9 has already made its way in to Amazon Germany and Amazon United Kingdom. The device is priced at 499 Euros for 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory variant but is available in a 6 GB RAM and 128 internal memory variant in China as well where it was launched two weeks back. The Indian launch is expected to happen sometime in August.

Honor 9 has curved glass at the back in a metal enclosure. The antenna runs through the metal frame. This time around the fingerprint sensor has been moved to the front home key unlike other older Honor smartphones. There are extremely thin bezels on the sides of the display.

The smartphone features a 5.15 inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 2.5D curved glass. It gets powered by a HiSilicon 64-bit 2.4 GHz Octa core Kirin 960 SoC coupled with 4 GB or 6 GB RAM. The graphics are handled by Mali G71 MP8 GPU and the device has 64 GB or 128 GB internal storage along with the ability to expand the storage through a microSD card.

In terms of cameras, Honor 9 keeps up with the tradition of dual rear cameras and has two sensors of 20 Megapixel and 12 Megapixel resolution each. The features of the rear camera include touch to focus, PDAF, face detection, HDR and a dual tone LED flash. The front camera supports a resolution of 8 Megapixels with f/2.0 aperture.

The battery capacity of Honor 9 stands at 3200 mAh along with fast charging capability. The phone weighs 155 grams and its connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, NFC, Infrared port and USB Type-C port.

The smartphone will be available in four colors - Black, Blue, Amber Gold and Gray. The operating system running the Honor 9 is Android 7.0 Nougat layered with EMUI 5.1. The dual-SIM phone houses a hybrid tray where you can either use 2 SIM cards or 1 SIM card and a microSD card.

Huawei is also slated to launch the Honor 8 Pro in India on 6th July exclusively on Amazon. And so the brand would be hard at work in the times to come.
