Huawei will launch Honor 8 Pro exclusively on Amazon India from 6th July

Huawei's e-brand Honor is going to launch Honor 8 Pro in India on July 6th. The device would only be sold online on Amazon exclusively. The phone is expected to compete directly with the slightly more popular OnePlus 5 which was very recently launched for a starting price of Rs. 32999. Honor 8 Pro's pricing would probably be announced on July 6th and the phone does carry a dual rear camera like the OnePlus offering.

In terms of specifications, Honor 8 Pro packs a 5.7 inch QHD LTPS display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The phone is powered by Octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor with 4 Cortex-A53 cores operating at 1.8 GHz and the remaining 4 Cortex-A73 cores operating at 2.4 GHz. There is 6 GB RAM available onboard coupled with 128 GB internal memory which can be further expanded up to 256 GB through a microSD card. The dual SIM Honor 8 Pro has a hybrid slot.

The device has dual rear cameras, both of which are 12 Megapixel sensors. Both these sensors have f/2.2 aperture, laser AF, 4K video recording and LED flash. However, the technology used behind the two sensors is entirely different from the one used by OnePlus 5 in its dual camera setup. While the OnePlus 5 dual cameras go by the combination of a normal lens and a telephoto lens the way iPhone 7 Plus does, the Honor 8 Pro features one sensor which captures RGB color pictures while the other clicks monochrome images. The device also has an 8 Megapixel selfie camera upfront.

Honor 8 Pro has a mammoth 4000 mAh battery which should make it stand out from similarly priced devices where the battery isn't as large. The phone would run on EMUI 5.1 layered on top of Android 7.0 Nougat. The connectivity options available on the device include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, 4G LTE, GPS, AGPS, GLONASS, Infrared port, microUSB 2.0 Type-C 1.0 reversible connector and USB OTG. The weight of the smartphone is 184 grams and it will be sold in Midnight Black and Navy Blue colors in India.
