OnePlus 5 crosses 700000 "Notify Me" subscriptions on

We have already seen how OnePlus 5 has been soaring the registration charts on Chinese website and now the phone is continuously inching near 1 million "Notify Me" subscribers on According to Amazon, OnePlus 5 has garnered humungous anticipation and interest from the technology fraternity ever since it started "Notify Me" subscription on June 7 on its Indian platform. As of today, the smartphone has crossed 700000 "Notify Me" subscriptions. The product is going live for sale on at 4:30 PM on Thursday, 22nd June 2017. And we believe that these subscriptions would continue to rise exponentially as the actual announcement and Indian launch date nears. The global launch event would start on Tuesday, June 20th at 12 PM EDT or 9:30 PM IST through a webcast from United States on the official OnePlus website here. And the launch in India takes place at 2 PM on Thursday, June 22nd.

OnePlus and have an exclusive partnership since the brand's inception in December 2014. Since then, Amazon has brought across all OnePlus smartphones to Indian customers. To add to the euphoria, OnePlus has already confirmed that it would sell the phone without an invite system this time around.

To summarise the specifications, OnePlus 5 packs a 2.35 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. It would be released in 2 variants, the first one with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory and the other one with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal memory. These models should be priced at Rs. 32999 and Rs. 37999 respectively but they may vary slightly at the time of the announcement. Both these variants would sport a 5.5 inch QHD display running at a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. It would also have a ceramic coated fingerprint sensor embedded in the Home Key below the display. OnePlus 5 would have a metal clad design that is lighter and thinner than the outgoing OnePlus 3T.

The smartphone would boast of a dual camera setup with both cameras sporting a 16 Megapixel resolution. The dual camera system as well as the entire back does make the device look a lot like the iPhone 7 Plus. As per a new report, the company has used the same combination of cameras as present on iPhone 7 Plus, i.e. they have used a normal lens and a telephoto lens. The brand is expected to employ the bokeh, shallow depth of field and background blurring technologies in OnePlus 5. OnePlus is also working in partnership with DxO Mark to enhance image capture quality on the phone. The company has been continuously sharing photo samples on its official social media accounts. And just a few days back, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau shared beautiful sunrise images on Weibo. These images do reveal high dynamic range and stupendous camera quality.

OnePlus 5 would be powered by a 3300 mAh battery along with Dash Charge 2.0 technology for super fast charging. The new flagship phone will run on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box and is expected to be updated over to Android O in the coming future.

The phone's design is already out in the open completely and it surely does have its similarities with Oppo R11 and iPhone 7 Plus. As per an image posted by serial leaker Evan Bliss, the company had tested a large number of prototypes before finalising this one. And other than the external similarities, a few people might be disappointed that OnePlus has employed the same dual camera tech as Apple. But considering the total number of registrations and subscriptions, we feel people have already left those disappointments behind and are ready to look forward to a grand launch and a glorious smartphone.
