OnePlus 5 registrations now reach glorious 400000 mark on Chinese website

OnePlus had opened pre-registrations for its upcoming smartphone OnePlus 5 on a few days back and the phone is receiving a tremendous response. It has just crossed the glorious 400000 mark. This shows the immense interest that has been built around the new phone. OnePlus 5 will be released globally on June 20th and it would be launched in India on June 22nd.

OnePlus has already tasted huge success with the previously launched OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T and if numbers are going to be any indication, then OnePlus 5 is going to skyrocket the company's popularity even higher. OnePlus 5 would be available in open sale without an invite system which should please many prospective buyers no end.

OnePlus 5 would be powered by a 2.35 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. It would be released in 2 variants, the first one with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory while the other one would have 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal memory. The Indian prices leaked for these 2 devices are Rs. 32999 and Rs. 37999 respectively though new reports suggest they might be slightly inexpensive than these. Both the variants would feature a 5.5 inch QHD display running at a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.

The smartphone should sport a 3300 mAh battery to power the device along with Dash Charge 2.0 technology for ultra fast charging. The new flagship phone will run on Android 7.1 Nougat. And since the company has very recently promised Android O update for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, the OnePlus 5 would also be moved over to Android O within a short span of time.

OnePlus 5 would feature a dual camera lens with both cameras sporting a 16 Megapixel resolution. And the dual camera system does make the device look a lot like the iPhone 7 Plus, at least from the back. It remains to be seen how the company manages to use the dual camera setup on the back though. The company is also working together with DxO Mark to enhance photography.

Another leak showed an image depicting the antenna bands as well as the alert slider of the phone. These again seem to have cloned iPhone 7 Plus. Hopefully, that is where the similarities end as people are putting in a lot of faith and trust in the brand and also the upcoming phone, as the number of registrations suggest.
