OnePlus 5 to be available in open sale without an invite system

As per a report appearing on International Business Times, OnePlus 5 would be available invite-free which might come as a major relief for people planning to buy the device as soon as it launches. The news about the invite that was circulating the Internet was only about an invite to the launch event happening on June 22nd in Mumbai. But in reality, the phone would be available in open sale once it hits Amazon India.

You can check a few OnePlus 5 specs here:

The phone would be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. It would be available in 2 variants, the first one with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory while the other one would have 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal memory. The prices leaked for these 2 devices are Rs. 32999 and Rs. 37999 respectively. Both the variants would feature a 5.5 inch QHD display running at a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and they would run on Android 7.1 Nougat.

The teaser image posted by OnePlus on its Facebook page shows that the OnePlus 5 has dual cameras, which makes it look like a clone of Apple iPhone 7 Plus. However, no other details regarding the cameras have been disclosed and we would be keen to know how the company uses the dual lens setup on its new flagship device.

The OnePlus series has always been marketed as flagship killers. The specs that have been leaked out do seem to show that the device would be a beast however the design of the phone could be a major question mark specially in the wake of its resemblance to the iPhone 7 Plus. We hope that alone is not a deterrent to the many customers eagerly waiting to line up for the phone and the OnePlus 5 does as well, if not better, than its elder siblings, the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T.
