Xiaomi starts rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for 3 GB variant of Mi Max
Chinese smartphone vendor Xiaomi has started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for Mi Max. The update has started appearing in devices in Germany and would be propagated to the remaining countries soon. The build number for the update stands at MIUI 126.96.36.199.
The update is available only for 3 GB variants currently and nothing has been confirmed or reported about 4 GB variants.
The new Nougat update on Xiaomi Mi Max includes features such as more robust CPU resource allocation, refined toggles for preset search settings, ability to hide notification content etc. along with enhancements to performance and stability. Some of these features are available in stock Android and Xiaomi has basically extended the programming interfaces and given them its own little touch.
This is an over-the-air firmware update and users with Mi Max can either wait for an automatic update notification or check the update themselves manually through the settings.
Xiaomi Mi Max is a phablet sized smartphone with a 6.44 inch Full HD display. The dual SIM phone weighs 203 grams and runs on Qualcomm MSM8956 Snapdragon 650 processor. The RAM available on the device is 3 GB coupled with 32 GB or 64 GB internal storage. There is a 16 Megapixel rear camera and a 5 Megapixel front camera on board. The phone has a non-removable Li-Ion 4850 mAh battery and its connectivity options include Dual band Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, AGPS, GLONASS, Infrared port, FM radio, microUSB 2.0 and USB Host.

Very recently, an ambiguous video had appeared online which showed a user unlocking a Xiaomi Mi 6 with a fingerprint sensor embedded under the display and the company has also launched a range of accessories like Mi Wi-Fi Repeater 2, Mi Bluetooth Speaker Mini and Mi Power Bank 2 in India this past week.
