ZTE announces Nubia M2 Play with 5.5 inch display and 13 MP rear camera

ZTE has today unveiled an entry level smartphone called the Nubia M2 Play. The camera focused phone has not been officially launched though and its pricing, availability or the markets where it would be sold have not been announced or confirmed as yet. The phone receives a tagline of "Thinner, Faster, Stronger." The latest member of ZTE's M2 series of smartphones features a fully metal clad and double diamond edge-cut finish body with 2.5D curved glass on the front. It has a smooth texture and an ergonomic design. ZTE has also very recently launched Nubia Z11 mini in India

The dual SIM 4G Nubia M2 Play features a 5.5 inch TFT display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 resolution and a pixel density of 274 ppi. There is a fingerprint sensor below the display on the Home key.

The smartphone employs a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 MSM8940 processor with an octa core Cortex-A53 SoC with 4 cores running at 1.4 GHz and the remaining 4 cores running at 1.1 GHz. There is 3 GB RAM in the device along with Adreno 505 GPU. The internal storage available on Nubia M2 Play is 32 GB which can be expanded up to 128 GB through a microSD card.

In terms of cameras, there is a 13 Megapixel rear Sony CMOS lens with f/2.2 aperture, autofocus and an LED flash. The rear camera features intelligent noise reduction and 3D noise reduction for crystal clear low light photography. At the front, there is a 5 Megapixel BSI CMOS camera with f/2.4 aperture and 84-degree wide-angle lens.

The battery capacity of Nubia M2 Play is 3000 mAh. The Li-ion battery is non-removable. The phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat layered with the company's proprietary Nubia UI 5.0 and it has support for DTS surround sound for enhanced audio quality. The connectivity options available on the device include 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.1, A2DP, GPS, GLONASS, 3G, 4G, microUSB port and 3.5 mm audio jack. The thickness of Nubia M2 Play stands at 7.9 mm.
