Huawei launches much anticipated Honor 8 Pro in India for Rs. 29999
Huawei's smartphone online sub-brand Honor has today launched its much rumored device, the Honor 8 Pro in India. The smartphone would be available exclusively on Amazon India at a price of Rs. 29999 beginning 6 PM on July 10th.
Honor 8 Pro stands to be a premium class metal clad phone with extremely tiny bezels along the sides along with a thin 6.97 mm profile. In terms of specifications, Honor 8 Pro boasts of a 5.7 inch 2K display featuring 1440 x 2560 resolution, ~515 ppi pixel density, ~79% screen-to-body-ratio, 16700K colors as well as 94.5% NTSC color gamut coverage. The display delivers cinema level experience to users with rich color accuracy and exquisite detailing.
The device gets powered by Huawei's own 16 NM Kirin 960 Octa-core processor with four high performance Cortex A73 cores running at 2.4 GHz and the remaining four low-power Cortex A-53 cores running at 1.8 GHz. The graphics run on Mali-G71 MP8 which includes support for Vulkan 3D graphics to be able to run most graphic intensive games at good resolution. Honor 8 Pro has a dual SIM hybrid slot and carries a 4000 mAh battery. The company claims the battery lasts for 1.44 days with heavy usage and around 2 days with regular usage, which could place it at a higher pedestal than some other flagships provided the numbers as well as the experience stand out to be true. The inbuilt Smart Power 5.0 technology optimise battery life by minimising background apps and terminating processes that consume huge amount of battery cycles. The device also has capability for fast charging.
The connectivity options available on the device include Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Hotspot, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, AGPS, GLONASS, BDS, NFC, Infrared port, USB 2.0 with Type-C 1.0 reversible connector, USB OTG and 4G LTE. The phone weighs 184 grams.
Honor 8 Pro runs on Android Nougat layered with the company's proprietary EMUI 5.1 skin on top of it. The operating system builds on the three guiding principles of cleanliness, simplicity and intelligence. With collaboration with GoPro, the device intelligently organises photos by category and generates customisable video stories. The device comes bundled with a 3D cardboard viewer and an OTA update for Jaunt VR app which has oodles of 3D video content.
Honor 8 Pro would be available in Midnight Black and Navy Blue color options. The device gets bundled with a 9V/2A fast charger, standard USB-C cable and 1 year service warranty. The phone competes directly with the very recently launched as well as the much well received OnePlus 5, specially due to the similar pricing as well as equivalent features and specifications.
